Cooperation Without Qualifications?
A major tragedy struck a few weeks ago in Haiti in a 7.0 earthquake that claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. Of course, the whole world was rattled by that tragedy. Gifts and support poured into Haiti from different parts of the world to rescue those trapped in different shapes and forms under debris. The tragedy touched the lives of different segments of people, ranging from the the young, the old and those in-between.
One question that this forum raises about the Haiti catastrophe is: why does it take a tragedy of this magnitude to raise the awareness of the world to the conditions in Haiti before the earthquake? Can't Haiti's neighbors in the western hemisphere notice the crying need for care in Haiti before the earthquake struck?
Able World Foundation is quite aware of the fact that a number of voluntary international organizations were active in Haiti, in the medical, educational, and social services areas, but what Haiti needed at that time were massive aids! We are thinking about the kind of aid that can be provided by Agencies like the United Nations or the United States or the European Union, We are talking about aid to Haiti before disaster.
Able World Foundation, through this medium calls on the world communities to enhance their prestige by caring for people early in their manifestation of need on a local or international level. Need withheld is synonymous with need denied. People in communities have individual as well as collective needs; the former can be met by smaller organizations; the latter by bigger ones.
Yesteryears, it was Katrina; today it's Haiti. No one knows when and where the next disaster will strike. All that we can say is: Be Prepared.

Able World Revamps Itself
Able World Foundation, a nonprofit Agency with 501(c)(3) status has decided to revamp itself by widening the scope of its services in its programing. Its focus would now be adults who traditionally raise children and youth. In other words, Able World believes that the adult population as well as children and youth need education and training for skills to survive in the world.
Able World wants to be an advocate for peace, progress and prosperity worldwide, but these human conditions are generally earned. People do not become prosperous by doing nothing. This is probably why sages say the medicine for poverty is work. Humans define work themselves and others in a way that gets each class of workers away from the grip of poverty.
If you're an able-bodied person, male or female, ask yourself what you can do to satisfy your needs on a daily basis.Your next approach is to examine your answer in the midst of a variety of options. Then, choose the most appropriate option.
