Festivals
Able World presented the first International World Drum Festival in Oakland, California in May of 1994. The festival drew artists from diverse communities including Asian, African, Native American and Caucasian. The late Baba Olatunji of Drums of Passion was the headliner for the festival.

Plans are underway to present the second festival to be called the World Odunde Music Festival (WOMFEST) in June of 2006. We tentatively plan to stage the event in Hayward. WOMFEST is slated to become an annual event, inspired by the harvest celebrations and characterized by drumming, singing, dancing, and expressing joy. Festivals tend to reduce societal stress and breakdown, thus paving the way for human productivity. Would you like to support WOMFEST? Do you know any artists who might wish to participate? Would you like to work on the Planning Committee for WOMFEST? Please visit the volunteer section and make your desires known!!
