What's The AWYC?

Able World Foundation, Inc. (Able World) assumes that the peoples of the world cherish peace, progress and prosperity™ and would strive to achieve and preserve these. To make this possible, Able World is launching the Able World Youth Clubs™ (AWYC).

Motto: Above all, seek peace, progress and prosperity.

SOME QUOTES ABOUT PEACE

If there is light in the soul, there will be beauty in the person. If there is beauty in the person, there will be harmony in the house. If there is harmony in the house, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world.

- Chinese Proverb

When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

- Jimi Hendrix

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.

- Mother Teresa

Able World assumes that the peoples of the world cherish peace, progress and prosperity, and would strive to achieve and preserve these desirable human traits. For those reasons, Able World proudly launches The Able World Youth Club™ (AWYC).

Goal
Able World Foundation, Inc. plans to establish Able World Youth Club in communities and schools, beginning in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our ultimate goal is to expand the program worldwide. At the heart of the youth clubs is creating and nurturing a culture of honesty, cooperation, respect, hard work, and learning. We plan to instill such values, using time-tested principles of social learning and conditioning. In this way, Able World believes that it can help the younger generation break the cycle of violence and despair, and chart a new path to world peace and prosperity.

Membership

Membership in our youth clubs is open to all children and youth 24 and under, the future leaders of our communities. We urge parents and community leaders to encourage their children/wards to embrace the establishment of a branch of the Able World Youth Club in their community. Parents and community leaders can find a meeting space at public schools and libraries. Initially, we wish to encourage upper elementary, middle and high school groups to form.

Projects

Each club designs and implements their own activities. These activities could revolve around areas such as self-definition, self-knowledge, spiritual awareness, the presence or absence of peace in the community, racial tension, social harmony resulting from negotiations, community revitalization, cleanliness, commitment to learning, education and occupation, the art of cooperation, peer pressure, money management, poverty, community service, nutrition for a healthy living, health education, camping , crime, drugs and drug use, CPR, interaction with peace officers. Project activities are carried out within school premises and at designated camps all over the world. Sociability and civility are the hallmarks of club members.

Note:
Please, think deeply before choosing a project that can fulfil your aspirations.Next, find mentors in your social environment to guide and assist you in working on your project. Remember, school can give you something that can make you a somebody.

AWYC Officers

Each Able World Youth Club will elect the following officers: President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Recording Secretary, Public Relations Officer and Event Manager. Officers are elected at the beginning of the school year and serve for the entire academic year.

Expectations

Able World has great expectations for all members participating in Able World Youth Clubs. Increased self-esteem as well as more respect for their peers will be likely outcomes. Greater neighborhood cohesiveness amongst teens will result from the experience of working together harmoniously at club level. Our former club members are likely to have internalized the arts of creating peace, progress, and prosperity. This will increase their chances of living a happy, peaceful and productive life as adults. Their future contributions to society may be incalculable.

The Seven Principles of the AWYC

Every member of The Able World Youth Club™ (AWYC) is encouraged to invest in activities that lead to peace, progress and prosperity by working hard and smart and cooperatively in accomplishing their clubs goals. To that end, Able World Foundation, Inc., the sponsor of the AWYC, suggests the following statements – The Seven AWYC Principles – that every prospective member of the club must read, understand and accept in order to become a member. (Facilitators are ready to assist applicants for membership in understanding each of The Seven AWYC Principles.)

Prospective members may take a copy of the statements home for parental scrutiny. The motto of the club is: Above all, seek peace, progress and prosperity.

  1. An AWYC member is friendly to and cooperative with another member at all times and in all places. (This is the notion of friendship. We need friends, don't we?)
  2. An AWYC member plans out the task for each day, week, and month of the year, and commits herself or himself to carrying out planned assignments in a positive fashion. (Teacher-facilitators teach these to club members.)
  3. An AWYC member is ready at all times for a joint positive action in her or his community, using the head, heart and hands collectively as guide to all activities.(This is the sphere of critical thinking and community service.)
  4. An AWYC member respects self, and accords respect to others with whom she or he interacts to accomplish group or national goals. (This is the idea of solidarity within groups that have a task to perform. The teacher-facilitator teaches all that to club members.) AWYC members practice self-respect.
  5. An AWYC member regards herself or himself as a world-citizen, and all others as brothers and sisters that are striving to be happy, successful, and progressive. (This is the idea of building world interdependence into children and teens.)
  6. An AWYC member regards self and others as precious persons that must be treasured and protected from all forms of danger and pollution. (This is the idea of self-interest that children and teens must recognize at an early stage in life.)
  7. An AWYC member is ready to perform membership and leadership roles, working smart and hard at all times to acquire and apply the requisite skills for task accomplishment locally, nationally and internationally. (This is the sphere of practice as opposed to mere talk. This is the time for service to the community, the nation and the world.)

Able World Foundation believes that THE ABLE WORLD YOUTH CLUB™ (AWYC) would introduce a new dimension to world peace since the youth is likely to internalize and live peace everyday and in all places. One sure way for peace to grow and bear fruit is to water the tree of peace continuously, and enrich the soil on which it grows.

In pursuit of that grand goal, Able World Foundation proposes seeding The Able World Youth Club™ (AWYC) in communities and schools all over the world, beginning with the schools in the Greater Bay Area of California, USA. For that to be effective, we need the support of many people and organizations. Able World Foundation would like to count on you, can it?

If you are enthusiastic about the new path that Able World has charted for peace, progress, and prosperity - for children and youth worldwide, give us a call today, or send us an email, indicating how you can support the project. Meetings & Retreats

At every AWYC meeting and retreat, organizers and coordinators plan to achieve the following goals:

1.Registered members of the Able World Youth Club understand the necessity for    meetings and retreats as a pre-requisite for education, growth and development within    the organization.

2.Members participate actively in individual or group activities or projects in line with    the seven principles on which the club rests.

3. Members recognize the 3P(Infinity) graphic as its logo, and counsel each member to     respect it at all times in diverse places.

4. Membership in the AWYC is an opportunity to be of service to oneself as well as     others in one's community on the one hand and in other parts of the earth, on the other.

5. Members touch someone else: their friends, parents and neighbors, and invite them to     their meetings and go on retreat with them
